Featured Fundraiser: Dreampack Campaign to buy backpacks filled with supplies for kids in need!
Ok people, it’s time to get your wallets moving! Dreampack needs 70 more donations of $20 each in order to reach their goal of delivering 210 backpacks filled with school supplies to children in an Oakland school who would otherwise go without…let’s help them make it happen! With the start of each new school year families spend a large amount of money on school supplies. And with over 20% of East Bay residents living in poverty, many parents cannot afford to purchase basic school supplies, like pencils and notebooks. Adding to the problem, government budget cuts are forcing schools to reduce the number of supplies that they can provide. The mix of poverty and tighter budgets is leaving too many students without the tools they need to succeed in school.
Capture the Dream, Inc. attempts to remedy the problem through its annual DreamPack Campaign. The campaign provides needy students of various ages and grade levels with brand new backpacks filled with school supplies. Every back pack contains 30 items that are customized for each student’s grade level and needs. Equipped with the right tools, students can finally focus on learning.
